Freshman Republican Congressman Tim Huelskamp will host 14 town hall meetings across the First District of Kansas the first week of February. He will be in Great Bend from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Front Door, 1615 10th St.
Each forum is expected to last about an hour. He was in Ellsworth and Junction City on Tuesday, and plans stops in LaCrosse and Greensburg today before moving on to Minneola Thursday.
Congressman Huelskamp will provide an update on his first month in office, address legislation currently being considered by Congress, and discuss his committee assignments and responsibilities.
"During these town halls I will provide First District residents with an update of what is happening in Washington, and how we plan to address the crisis of record deficits and debt," Congressman Huelskamp said. "I look forward to address the concerns of the people of the Big First. Senators Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran established a tradition of visiting all 69 counties of the district each year, and I intend to continue that tradition."
Constituents with questions about the event should contact Congressman Huelskamp’s Salina office at 785-309-0572.
Huelskamp of Fowler was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2010, replacing Jerry Moran who won a seat in the U.S. Senate. His Committee assignments include Agriculture, Budget and Veterans Affairs. For more information, please visit http://huelskamp.house.gov.
