Drivers flee in Great Bend incidents

A vehicle driven by Elias Garza was southbound in the 2000 block of Harrison St. at 9:05 p.m. Sunday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Kenneth Gray, who reportedly had slammed on his brakes. Both vehicles fled the scene, according to the Great Bend Police Department.
At 10:43 p.m., the person who reported the accident reported finding a 2000 Lincoln in his driveway in the 200 block of Locust St. It had severe damage and no tag.
Garza was located at another house in the 200 block of Locust St. at 5:45 a.m. Monday and arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report. He was booked in lieu of bond.
GBPD also reported that at 3:54 a.m. Monday, an officer observed a green Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south in the 2300 block of Jefferson St. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop and the driver fled on foot. Meanwhile, a man approached asking what was going on. The Tahoe was his vehicle.
