Two Great Bend men were arrested at a Great Bend motel Thursday afternoon for robbery in connection with an armed break-in at a Great Bend residence Sept. 22.
In custody are Jeffrey Todd Hicks, 44, and Eligus Ryan Ricketts, 25. They remain in the Barton County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond each.
According to a Great Bend Police Lt. Bill Browne, officers from the Great Bend Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the Baltzell Motel, 705 10th St., at about 1:30 p.m. in regards to the suspects. Authorities had warrants for both for aggravated robbery.
Warrants in hand, the officers entered room 19 and found Hicks and Ricketts. The two surrendered without incident and were taken into custody.
On the night of Wednesday, Sept. 22, two armed men reportedly forced entry into the residence at 1424 10th St., tied up the occupants and took electronic equipment. The Great Bend Police officers were dispatched at 10 p.m.
The alleged victims said they were able to untie themselves and call 911.
According to their report, one of the suspects carried a handgun and the other carried some type of "long gun." The suspects identities were unknown.
