Overalls are back in style, according to Amanda Dreiling, emcee for the Great Bend Recreation Commission’s annual Spring Style Show at the Senior Center.

Dreiling, who works for the GBRC, was speaking from her own shopping experience, but experts from local stores provided ensembles of other trendy outfits. While there were no overalls modeled Tuesday, several versions of the double-strapped classic were seen last month at the New York Fashion Week.

Bailey Ziegler, store manager at Maurice’s in Great Bend, said bold Aztec patterns, bright neon colors and acid washed denim are all big this year. “The ’80s are coming back,” she said.

Black-and-white is also big this year, and collared button-downs.

Along with Maurice’s, fashions modeled Tuesday were provided by High Call Outfitters, E&E Glass & Gifts, and Beautiful Beginnings. Hammeke modeled a high-low dress, which is also popular this spring. Longer in the back, the skirts show a little leg in the front.

Layers are fashionable as well, and the clothing modeled featured a variety of cardigans, jackets and scarves.
