The Barton County Sheriff’s Office raided a suspected meth lab Tuesday morning in Pawnee Rock.

A search warrant was executed at 674 SW 110 Ave. around 8:45 a.m. Twelve officers joined the search, and an ambulance was called to stand by. No one was injured, however, Undersheriff Larry Holliday reported. Three people were arrested at the scene.

Officers found glassware, chemicals and other items consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. "We had a lab," Holliday said.

The most serious charges, of manufacturing or attempting to manufacture a controlled substance (methamphetamine), or aiding and abetting the same, are classified as Severity Level 1 Drug Felonies. A person convicted of this level of crime will receive a minimum prison sentence of 12 years.

Buddie R. Ross, 40 was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of manufacture/attempted manufacture of methamphetamine, having anhydrous in an unapproved container and possession of meth.

Jennifer A. Ross, 30, was booked for aiding and abetting the manufacture of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeffrey Chapman, 29, was booked for manufacture/attempted manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of meth and unlawfully obtaining or altering a prescription order.

All three are residents of Pawnee Rock, and all they are each being held in lieu of $300,000 bond.

Children at the residence were placed in the custody of juvenile services.

The case is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office and will be forwarded to the Barton County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
