The Kansas Highway patrol responded to a one vehicle injury crash at 4:45 p.m. Thursday on 1-70 at mile post 185, just east of the U.S. 283 and I-70 junction in Russell County.

According to the KHP, A 2015 Ford sport utility vehicle driven by Nathaniel Peters, 77, of Kansas City, Mo., was eastbound on Interstate 70 when it entered the median. The vehicle hit a crossover, became airborne and rolled, landing back on its wheels.

Peters was not injured in the crash, but his passenger Juanita Peters, 75, of Kansas City, Mo., was injured and taken to Russell Regional Hospital. Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seat belts.
