Panther bands present contest selections Tuesday

 Panther band members will present their pre-contest concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Great Bend High School gym.

Selections the Panther jazz band will play are “Rockit,” “Splanky,” “Take Five” and “Gospel John.” The junior varsity band will play “Shackelford Banks,” “Cumberland Cross,” “Fairest of the Fair,” and “Let Freedom Ring!” Varsity selections will be “El Cabara,” “Song of the Wind,” “Midway March,” and “Quest of the Undaunted Knight.”

The bands are directed by Mark DeWald and he is assisted by Don Regehr. The concert is free to the public and everyone is invited to attend.

The Varsity and Junior Varsity contest will be on Thursday, March 16, also in the gym. The Varsity will perform at 8 a.m. followed by the Junior Varsity at 9:05. Their adjudicator, Bill Johnson from Wichita, will also serve as a clinician for both groups. The public may also attend the contest performances.
