Bands to perform Friday, Saturday

Jared Daniels Band
The Jared Daniels Band from Nashville, which started at Kansas State University, will rock downtown Larned Friday night. Members are from left, Jared Gabel, Devin Randel, Kevin Heinrichs, Jared Daniels, Dustin Keith and David Owens.

LARNED — A country band “Jared Daniels Band,” and a rock and soul music group, “Run With It,” will highlight festivities at the 2015 Santa Fe Trail Days.
The Jared Daniels Band will start at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Run With it will start at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Most activities are centered around downtown Larned. Crafts and vendors will sell their items every day in downtown Larned.
The weekend starts with a community banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Knights of Columbus.
The annual Santa Fe Trail Days parade kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday.
You are challenged to discover your inner “Super Hero” during the 5th Pawnee Valley Community Hospital benefit fun run/walk Saturday. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite “super hero” costume as they navigate the one mile and 5K course. The “Super Hero” Fun Run/Walk benefits the Fort Larned USD 495 athletic programs.

Friday, June 12
• 11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Hamburger Feed High Plains Farm Credit Parking Lot, 6th and Main. Free with Santa Fe Trail Days button/ $5 without. Sponsored by High Plains Farm Credit.
• 2-8 p.m. — Concession and craft vendors.
• 5-7 p.m. — Pancake Feed by Assembly of God Church to benefit church youth programs Community Center, 16th & Toles.
• 5 p.m. to midnight — Beer Garden open. Happy Hour 5-6 p.m. 700 block of Broadway.
• 6-11 p.m. — Midway carnival.
• 6:30 p.m. — Ice Cream Social, H&H Roofing.
• 7:30-9 p.m. — Jared Daniels Band, country music. 7th Street between Broadway and Main. Sponsors, Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Tabler Furniture, ITC Great Plains, Taco Bell stage.

Saturday, June 13
• 7:30 a.m. — Pawnee Valley Community Hospital 1M/5K Walk/Run benefits the Fort Larned athletic programs
• 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Santa Fe Trail Auto Club Car Show at Doerr Vernon Park, K-156 and Carroll. 8:30-10 a.m. sign-in. Parade 11 a.m.
• 9 a.m.-8 p.m. — Concession and craft vendors.
• 9 a.m.-2 p.m. — Inflatable Course, Larned Assembly of God.
• 9 a.m.-5 p.m. — Dunk Tank, Larned Alumni Association.
• 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — Petting Zoo, St. Mary and Martha Episcopal Church.
• 11 a.m. — Santa Fe Trail Days Parade - all classes encouraged to participate in the parade with a float, walk as a class, ride a wagon, dust off the Harleys.
• 11:30 a.m. — Larned State Hospital Duck Race, benefits United Way of Central Kansas.
• 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. — Midway carnival.
• Noon — Storyteller, Prairie Arts Unlimited.
• 2 p.m. — Human Foosball Challenge.
• 3 p.m. — State Theater Matinee Movie.
• 5 p.m.-Midnight — Beer Garden Open. Happy Hour 2-3 p.m.: $1 beer with SFTD Button.
