FORT LARNED — The staff at Fort Larned National Historic Site has scheduled a free photography workshop geared for young adults from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 21.
Participants should bring their own camera — a digital camera, iPad, cell phone, or other device.
Professional photographer and Fort Larned volunteer Tracy Williams will present “Showcasing Images and Your Creativity” with a PowerPoint and conversation.  Then field work taking pictures in and around the fort’s buildings and natural resources will follow along with information about two photo contests on the horizon.
“Although the workshop is geared for young adults, young at heart can register too!” Jones said.
The workshop is made possible by the Golden Belt Foundation and the Fort Larned Old Guard. Capacity is limited, so reserve your place by calling 620-285-6911. For information, call Ranger Ellen Jones.
Each participant will choose their most favorite photograph and we will enlarge and mount it for display during our 4th of July weekend event. Every photographer in the workshop will retrieve their photo after the event as a beautiful souvenir.  There is no cost for participating.
Fort Larned National Historic Site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. six miles west of Larned on K-156.  Information is available at www.nps.gov/fols, or by calling, 620-285-6911.
