National Honor Society ceremony conducted

Past and new members of the National Honor Society at Larned High School are welcomed.

LARNED — Twenty-one sophomores and juniors were inducted into the Larned Chapter of National Honor Society Monday in the Larned High School choir room.  
President Aarika Bright welcomed the guests, followed by a prayer by Kaitlyn Finger.  
Vice-President Katelyn Baker welcomed the new members while Secretary Wyatt Davis gave a brief history of the Larned chapter.  
Bright introduced Landon Erway, Evan Skelton, Jennifer Applequist, and Symantha Shelton who shared the qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and service in a candle light ceremony.  
Following the National Honor Society pledge led by Bright, the three juniors and eighteen sophomores were inducted as members.  
Inspirational quotes by Erway and Skelton, along with an oboe sole by Applequist, completed the evening’s ceremony.  Baker then closed the ceremony by inviting the new inductees and their guests to a brief reception.  
Students at Larned High School are inducted in NHS during the spring semester; sophomores and juniors who are eligible can be inducted.  
Past members include Aarika Bright, Katelyn Baker, Wyatt Davis, Jennifer Applequist, Landon Erway, Kaitlyn Finger, Symantha Shelton and Evan Skelton.  
New inductees include Allyson Aldrich, Brandon Bartz, Drew Bowman, Braeden Corman, Joshua East, Madison Erway, Madison Gleason, Jaidaah Harris, Johnathan Herter, Dorothy Keenan, Kolby Keith, Amanda Lessard, Colton Massey, Catherine Orth, Max Easley, Reed Russum, Mason Schartz, Kate Schroeder, Gage Skelton, Haley Skelton and Jaicee Walker.
