New A.C. compressor in at Haas 4-H Building

Pawnee County commissioners, at their Aug. 9 meeting, approved paying M & F Plumbing $2,800 for a new air conditioner compressor at the J.A. Haas Building on the fairgrounds. They also signed a City of Larned/Pawnee County lease agreement with Steve Gross, doing business as Gross Flying Service.
Jack Gardner, of Larned Automotive, Inc., discussed a Neighborhood Revitalization Plan for his business and a notice he had received from County Appraiser Carl Miller. Miller joined the discussion.
Sheriff Scott King and County Highway Administrator Kurt Demel discussed the alley behind the county jail and needed repairs. Demel also gave updates about a pair of county bridges. He also discussed needed maintenance on the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital parking lot. Commissioners approved paving the lot, with money from the Health Fund.
Commissioners signed a contract for government affairs (lobbying) services with Kearney and Associates, Inc.
They discussed a proposed first draft of the 2010-2011 county budget.
Commissioners met in closed session with County Attorney John Settle for a total of two hours, 15 minutes, in two sessions, each under the attorney/client privilege exception to the Open Meetings Act.
