LARNED — Pawnee County Commissioners voted to suspend County Clerk/Election Officer Ruth Searight’s salary during the commissioners’ regular meeting on Oct. 5.  

The suspension comes after what the commission deemed as Searight’s negligence to “perform statutory duties and adhere to current budgets.”

According to a report in the Larned Tiller and Toiler, the suspension goes into effect on Monday, Oct. 12, unless Searight appears in person before the commissioners during their regular meeting at 10 a.m. the same day.
