NICKERSON — A Nickerson motorist was taken to the hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 6, after a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 went off an icy highway in Reno County, two miles south of Nickerson on K-14, shortly before 7 a.m.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports Dakota Matthew Allen Hoffman, 17, was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for possible injury after he complained of pain. The driver lost control due to the icy conditions and the southbound truck went into a broadside skid into the west ditch, rolling two times before coming to rest on its roof. He had been wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was towed.
