Great Bend parents were notified Thursday morning that USD 428 had been alerted of a threat to Great Bend High School made via social media.
Superintendent Khris Thexton said the police were contacted and were actively involved in investigating.
“Please know that student safety and security is our top priority and all threats are treated seriously,” an email from the district office stated. “As always, all exterior doors are locked and admission will only be granted through the front office. Again, law enforcement is actively investigating the situation and we will keep you informed when more information is available.”
Nothing more was reported Thursday.
