Current and prospective Prairie Godmothers are invited to Margarita Monday for Giving Tuesday. This come-and-go event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Playa Azul Mexican Restaurant, 4923 10th St.
#GivingTuesday inspires personal philanthropy and encourages bigger, better and smarter charitable giving during the holiday season, showing that the world truly gives as good as it gets. Giving Tuesday happens every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which this year falls on Nov. 29.
The Prairie Godmother Funds group is hosting Margarita Monday as an early opportunity to provide a donation to build the Prairie Godmothers endowment and continue the mission of “Women Helping Women” in Barton County. Drop off a donation and stay for the refreshments and social. Admission is free.
The Prairie Godmother Funds has over 320 members, and anyone can become a new godmother by making a contribution of any amount at its events.
There is a $40,000 pool of matching funds available to all the funds participating in Golden Belt Community Foundation’s Giving Tuesday efforts. This means that the donations raised at Giving Tuesday events will be matched on a proportional basis in relation to the total amount raised.
Donations can also be mailed to the Golden Belt Community Foundation, 1307 Williams St., Great Bend, KS 67530. Donations mailed any time during the month of November will count toward the match opportunity.
