SpiritLife program starts Aug. 24

Movies With a Message series announced

Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will present its first in its Movies with a Message series tonight.  The movie, “Thomas Merton:  A Film Biography,” covers the life of Father Merton, who was an acclaimed 20th century writer on spirituality and social issues. The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway. Refreshments will be served, and there will be discussion time after the movie. A freewill donation is requested.

St. Ignatius Church to hold fiesta

KANOPOLIS — St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Kanopolis will hold its annual Fiesta on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Members will be selling Mexican and American food and homemade pie starting at 11 a.m. Games for children and bingo will follow the 4 p.m. Mass. Christian meet and greet at Vets Park

City Church Ministries (www.GBChristians.com) will host a citywide Christian Meet ‘n’ Greet at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the large shelter in Veterans Memorial Park, as part of a combined ministry outreach. Those who can afford it are asked to bring a covered dish. All Christians are invited for a time of fellowship, testimonies and prayer for the community.
