The St. Joseph School children, teachers and parish members gathered to pray the rosary on Monday, Oct. 19th in the Parish Center.  The month of October was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the daily recitation of the rosary was encouraged. The 75 students of St. Joseph School, ranging in age from kindergarten through 8th grade, stood silently and reverently as the rosary was prayed.
This rosary was larger than the typical rosary, as each rosary bead was a helium filled balloon.  The students took turns leading each prayer.  At the conclusion, Fr. Klein praised the students for their reverence and led the group to the area west of the school, where the balloon rosary was released.
The strong wind gusts caught the rosary and quickly sent it soaring above the school.
Wittney Hammeke, one of the students stated, “I thought the rosary was cool.  It was just too windy. I wish we could have watched it float slowly up into the sky.”
St. Joseph School would like to thank Don and Deb Erb from Timken, who donated supplies and their labor to assemble the rosary.
