On Sunday, Oct. 9, Marlis Shamblin will be speaking at the 1st Church of the Nazarene, 4811 Broadway Ave. in Great Bend. Doors will be open at 5:30p.m., and the service will start at 6 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship afterward.
Marlis was born in Germany in 1934 and grew up in the war-torn country before and after war years. She shares of living much of her childhood hood under the reign of Hitler. Her story is one that needs to be told; it is compelling and opens the eyes of the listeners to a part of history that should not be forgotten. She also shares of the redeeming power of the Lord Jesus Christ, not only in her personal life, but also in world affairs.
Marlis is married to Donald Shamblin, Ph.D. They are founders of Servants Ministry Int’l and present directors of this mission organization. They have served the Lord in many locations around the world including (but not limited to) China, Afghanistan, Haiti, the Philippines, India, and Germany.
Marlis learned English at Cambridge University, England. She has five children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She has also spoken to numerous women’s groups, always highlighting the work of God in their lives.
