WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) is working to support efforts to reunite a father in Wichita, Kansas, with his two children currently living in Russia. Against his will, Brian Mobley’s two daughters, ages 6 and 4, were taken to Russia by their mother Bogdana Mobley in 2014 and then prevented from visitations with their father despite court orders. Since March 2018, Rep. Estes has worked with Mr. Mobley to identify ways to reunite the family.

In addition to working with the U.S. State Department and U.S. Embassy in Moscow, on Feb. 13, 2019, Rep. Estes sent a letter to Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov requesting the Russian government’s attention to the matter.

“Mr. Mobley has worked tirelessly to bring his daughters home, at considerable financial and emotional expense,” wrote Rep. Estes. “I respectfully request that you work through the proper diplomatic and domestic channels in order to reunite these two innocent children with their father.”

On March 6, 2019, a federal grand jury convicted Bogdana Mobley of one count of international parental kidnapping and two counts of attempting to extort money from the children’s father. Following the conviction, Rep. Estes is continuing efforts to raise awareness of this case to the Russian government in an effort to expedite reunification.

"After five painful years, I am hopeful our efforts to raise awareness in Congress and with the Russian Federation will help speed up the process to reunite Brian Mobley with his daughters," said Rep. Estes.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
