Husband and wife Carl and Teresa Jilg were named the King and Queen at the River Bend Assisted Living Valentine’s Day Party on Feb. 14th.
They were married in July of 1946. They grew up living on opposite corners of the same lot in Albert. Through the years Teresa “Tessie” worked for 11 years at the Albert Farmers State Bank and 19 years at the Otis Bank, and as a relief worker at the Albert Post Office until about two years ago. After being discharged from the Army, Carl worked in Great Bend for the State Highway Department and then for the Albert Coop for 43 years. During those 43 years Carl served on the City Council for 30+ years and was also a volunteer fireman for 20+ years. The couple has two adopted daughters, Susan of McKinney, Texas and Eileen of Great Bend.
