School board to meet Thursday
Student engagement will resume on Monday
Riley - We love you
A message from the staff at Riley Elementary School says “We love you” to those who pass by the school on 10th Street. Teachers are at work now preparing to engage students with alternative education methods starting Monday, March 30.

The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will hold its regularly scheduled meeting set for noon on Thursday, March 26, at the District Education Center, 201 South Patton Road. The meeting would normally have taken place at one of the schools, but the location and the format of this meeting have changed to comply with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment requirements to slow the spread of the Covid-19, including the recommendation not to gather in groups of more than 10 people.

USD 428 will comply with the group size recommendation. If the number of people attending exceeds 10, alternate accommodations will be made to allow for participation.

The agenda includes a Covid-19 update, including a presentation on the Continuous Learning Plan and a resolution to suspend certain graduation requirements as stated in board policy. Students must still meet all graduation standards set out in Kansas Administrative Regulation 91-31-35, unless otherwise modified by the Kansas State Department of Education, to qualify for graduation in May 2020.

Other items on the agenda are a personnel report and approval of contributions.
