Senior Center reopening Monday
Great Bend Senior Center.jpg

Starting on Monday, June 29, the Great Bend Senior Center at 2005 Kansas Ave. will be open and resume its regular hours of 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lunch and other activities will resume with more sanitation and social distancing in place, Director Brenda Lebbin said.

Those wanting to eat lunch should let the staff know in advance if they want carry-out meals or plan to dine in. The carry-out meals will be handed out in the Suchy parking lot on the north side of the building. Come in the north drive for pickup and exit out the south.

The Senior Center will serve coffee and doughnuts Tuesday morning, June 30, at 8 a.m.

The buses are running and can pick up seniors to come have lunch at the Senior Center or to pick up a carry-out meal.

Rules for Senior Center

• The tables and chairs are to remain where they are and should not be moved.

• Wear a mask when not eating. Patrons may bring their own masks or the Senior Center will supply them.

• Everyone should sanitize their hands often.

• Respect each other’s space.

• There will be no salt or pepper on tables. Diners will be given plastic utensils and salt and pepper packets.

• Staff will check people’s temperatures when they arrive at the Senior Center.

“We are so excited to have you return,” a memo to patrons reads. “We just want to remain safe.”
