Barton County Historical Society will host a program at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, featuring Dr. Elton Beougher, president of the Smoky Hill Trail Association.
The program will take place in the main museum at the Barton County Historical village, located just south of the Arkansas River Bridge in Great Bend.
Beougher will talk about the significance of the Smoky Hill Trail in our history and share anecdotes drawn from that history.
The speaker is a retired mathematics teacher at Fort Hays State University. A lifelong Kansan, he enjoys sharing his love of the history the area and has given numerous talks and presentations on the subject.
The program is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.
