The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a free Stop ‘N Learn Session titled “Walking School Bus” from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St. The program will also be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.
Bryan Scott, physical education teacher and volunteer Walking School Bus coordinator for Riley Elementary School, will be the presenter. He will explain what the Walking School Bus is and how it promotes good health, a cleaner environment and reduced traffic around the school. Participants can also learn what they need to do if they are interested in volunteering for this program.
