The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will look at the district immunization policy when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the District Education Center, 201 South Patton Road.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Great Bend USD 428 will work with families in the school district regarding the immunization policy. Typically, students are required to be current on immunizations by Oct. 1. This year, school nurses will monitor student immunization records and relay information to the principals to make decisions on enforcing the policy.

The board will receive information for possible action at Monday’s meeting. Other items on the agenda include approval of a forklift purchase, action on a windstorm insurance claim, an update on the remote learning curriculum that approximately 10% of the students are enrolled in, an update on the school restart plan, and information on Suicide Prevention Month and Week (Sept. 6-12) and Fire Safety and Awareness Week (Oct. 4-10).
