Two units from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office and a Hoisington Police Department vehicle were involved in a pursuit early Sunday.
At 4:30 a.m., someone in the 600 block of East Lakeview Drive, rural Great Bend, reported there was a lighter-colored truck “casing the neighborhood.”

This resulted in a pursuit on rural roads, with speeds varying between 60 and 80 miles per hour. Once the vehicle was northbound on 100 road, an officer reported he was going 90 mph and the suspect vehicle was pulling away.
The vehicle crossed K-4 and U.S. 281. The pursuit was called off at 5:13 a.m.
