US and military flags

GBHS honors veterans — 9 a.m. in the Great Bend High School Gymnasium. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Great Bend Veterans Day Observance — 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park Avenue of Flags.

Hats off to Veterans — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barton County Historical Museum & Village, 85 South U.S. 281. Free admission for veterans and immediate family. Special display honors veterans from all wars.

Dedication of the second Golden Belt Veterans Memorial memorial stone — 2 p.m. at the Golden Belt Memorial Park, 59 NW 50 Road. The public is encouraged to bring their own seating,

Flag Retirement Ceremony — 5:30 p.m. at the Ellinwood American Legion, 117 E. Santa Fe St. This will be followed by the announcement of Ellinwood’s Scout of the Year and a free chili soup supper in the Legion Hall. The public is invited.

Veterans Day Dinner — 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1120 Kansas Ave. Veterans and first responders eat for free.
