Volunteers needed for Royal Family Kids camp

Sponsors of the area Royal Family Kids camp need volunteers this summer. Financial support is also appreciated, according to Melissa Widiger, camp organizer.
Royal Family Kids Inc. is a national network of non-profit camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children. By mobilizing local churches to sponsor a one-week camp for abused and neglected children in their local community, the organization gets caring adults involved in the lives of children who need them. Each camp has two goals: make positive childhood memories for the kids and let them experience unconditional love from an adult.
A camp will be held in central Kansas June 30 through July 4. Widiger said the location is not published; volunteers will receive more information after passing a background check.
They are in need of adult buddies for boy and girl campers, activities and rec center helpers, birthday party organizers and helpers, registration personal on the first day of camp, help organizing and setting up for the Welcome Home Dinner, prayer partners, help getting sponsors/donations, and monetary gifts. The camp budget is based on donors’ gifts and is not possible without them, Widiger said. “We are honored to be able to offer a week of hope, healing and summer fun to local foster children.”
