WICHITA — The National Weather Service in Wichita has launched a new online storm report form for storm spotters and the general public to use.
On the left hand menu on the web page (http://weather.gov/wichita) under the first heading “Current Hazards,” look for the link “Submit Report.” In the future this may be changed to “Submit Storm Report.”
This link will take you to the submit a storm report page for the National Weather Service, Wichita.
Fill in the appropriate dialog boxes with the proper information — date, time, location of the event, select the event from the list, add any additional details you think we should know in the “Additional Details” box, and lastly, include your contact information.
When you submit your report, it will immediately alarm on computers in the NWS office.
The last box, “Contact Information,” is voluntary. However, all NWS Wichita community based storm spotters are encouraged to include your spotter ID in the appropriate box.
This new on-line reporting form is replacing the eSpotter system, which is being discontinued. All spotters who were in eSpotter, should immediately start using this on-line reporting form.
