Barton County law enforcement incident logs from the weekend show officers making a drug bust on Friday, thwarting a burglary on Saturday, and assisting a victim of a sexual assault early Sunday.
Burglary in progress reported
A burglary in progress was reported at 2:49 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at ACME Scrap Inc., 700 Frey St. in Great Bend. The Great Bend Police Department and Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Davin Rose, Great Bend, was located and arrested. He was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $20,000.
Officers also arrested David Mickle of Great Bend at the site. He had outstanding warrants from Great Bend Municipal Court for two counts of contempt of court. Bond was set at $417.50 and $1,576 cash.
Sex offense reported Sunday
A sex offense was reported at 4:06 a.m. Sunday in Great Bend. A case was taken by the Great Bend Police Department. A Barton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy gave the victim a ride from a Great Bend convenience store to her home in another Barton County community.
Pursuit ends in arrest
The Great Bend Police Department reports that a pursuit was initiated at 5:14 p.m. Friday near the Dollar General store at 5318 10th St. Rory Wright, Great Bend, was arrested for two Barton County warrants for probation violation. He was also booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and interference with a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $10,000.
