Yarmer to talk about Wolf Brewery
1-Tribune

Barton County Historical Society in Great Bend will host a talk by Robert Yarmer on the M.K. Wolf Brewery at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27.
The brewery existed in Ellinwood for 30 years, event though Kansas officially went dry in 1881, due to the ambition of its owner John Wolf.
Yarmer is a lifetime resident of Ellinwood and is interested in Kansas history, both state and local. He has written several monographs about Ellinwood which were published by the Ellinwood Community Historical Society and he is active in the research of early merchants and their business.
Monday’s program will take place at the Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village, 85 South U.S. 281, just across the Arkansas River bridge in Great Bend. Members of the community are invited to attend the free program.
