Great Bend Police

A gas skip at 3620 10th St. was reported at 3 p.m. Friday.

An alleged burglary by a known person at a Great Bend residence was reported Friday. Loss was $800.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a gas meter at 1508 Main, it was reported Friday evening.

A $45.54 gas skip at 2337 Washington St. was reported at 8:09 a.m. Saturday.

A burglary at 2202 Tyler St. was reported Saturday. Someone entered the residence and took a coin collection.

A woman reported locking her keys inside a vehicle with a minor child inside, Saturday morning in the 3900 block of Broadway Ave. Doors were opened by Marmie’s.

Someone entered an Oldsmobile at 1909 1/2 Washington St. and took the car stereo, it was reported Saturday.

Criminal damage to the garage door at 1920 Adams St. was reported Saturday.

A known person was arrested at 7:26 p.m. Sunday evening after allegedly breaking the rear window of a vehicle at 1400 Main St.

A gas skip at 2337 Washington St. was reported at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Barton County Sheriff

A male wearing tan pants and a red hoodie was allegedly seen in someone’s truck in the 700 block of SW 10 Road at 11:55 p.m. Saturday. He then ran from the area and was chased into a cornfield, but escaped. The reporting party called back Sunday morning to say someone broke several vehicle windows and opened the doors of vehicles sometime the night before.

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Friday, two Saturday and five Sunday.

On Friday they were dispatched to 2015 Broadway where there was a gas meter leaking. They shut the gas off and stood by until the gas company arrived.
