An Ellsworth man suffered suspected serious injuries as a result of a rollover crash Wednesday evening west of Kanopolis in Ellsworth County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Johnnie Miller Jr. was westbound on Avenue L about half a mile east of 17th Road near Kanopolis just after 7 p.m. when he attempted to pass a John Deere tractor driven by 22-year-old Wyatt S. Ploutz, also of Ellsworth. In the course of the pass, Miller over-corrected, turning into the south ditch. The 2005 Dodge Dakota Miller was driving rolled one time and came to rest in the south ditch.

Miller was transported to Salina Regional Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Ploutz was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
