Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a fatal one-vehicle crash at 1:50 a.m. Saturday in Edwards County.
Kenneth D. Wilder, 51, of Lewis was driving a 1990 Chevy pickup east on U.S. 50 at Lewis when the vehicle left the roadway and went into the south ditch. The pickup traveled a short distance in the ditch before returning to the highway, skidding across the roadway into the north ditch where it rolled, coming to rest on its top. Wilder was taken to Edwards County Medical Center in Kinsley. KHP reports he had been wearing a seat belt.
KHP also responded to a crash in which women from Lyons and El Dorado were injured at 10:50 a.m. Friday in Sedgwick County. Mikayla Ann Loesch, 21, of Lyons was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang on K-254 when a 2013 Ford Focus driven by Barbara Ann Baldwin, 78, of El Dorado failed to yield to eastbound traffic while turning south onto Rock Road from K-254. The cars collided and both drivers were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with undetermined injuries. They were wearing seat belts.
