Great Bend Police arrested two individuals Thursday morning on narcotics charges while investigating reports of suspicious activity near Veterans Lake in Great Bend.
According to reports, at shortly after 10:15 a.m., GBPD officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity in the 4100 block of 17th Street Terrace, just south of Veterans Lake. Upon arrival, officers located multiple subjects standing near an illegally parked vehicle. In the course of the investigation, officers learned one of the individuals, identified as 38-year-old Clarence Mattox, had multiple warrants for his arrest out of Barton County. He was placed under arrest, and found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
When a thorough search of the vehicle was conducted, officers located additional quantities of suspected methamphetamine and items of paraphernalia. Clinton Golay, 38 was subsequently arrested as well.
Both individuals were booked into Barton County Jail on multiple charges, and are being held in lieu of bond.
