Additional information was released Friday concerning the arrest of Randy Dent and Derek Black, both of Great Bend, on suspicion of burglary and theft. Dent, 40, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup in which the two allegedly fled the scene of a burglary or attempted burglary at 1566 East Barton County Road, around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. He lost control of the pickup in the 1200 block of NE 20 Road. The vehicle entered the sand ditch and cartwheeled end-over-end twice before coming to rest on its top. Later, when the two were apprehended, Dent was taken to Ellinwood District Hospital for a possible injury. Both were eventually booked into jail on charges as reported in Friday’s Great Bend Tribune.
Following up on another, unrelated case, Sheriff Greg Armstrong reports the two motorists injured in a collision near the diversion dam around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday were not transported to medical facilities. One was released to a parent and the other refused treatment at the scene.
