Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Wednesday and three on Thursday. There were no fires.

Gates were damaged behind the business at 3410 10th St., it was reported Wednesday. Loss was $200.
Theft of prescription medication from a purse at 2600 Adams St. was reported Wednesday. Loss was $30.
Someone drove through the yard at 3501 Lakin Ave., damaging a privacy fence. Loss was $1,000.
A small, clear zip-type plastic bag containing a white powder was found in the 2300 block of 31st St. and turned in to police Wednesday evening.
Theft of a DVD player from an apartment at 1101 Kansas Ave. was reported Wednesday.
A vehicle driven by Casey Harris was southbound on Washington near 21st St. at 8 a.m. Thursday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Marie Frieff.
A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at 1701 Main.
Someone broke the driver side window on a car at 84 South Washington Ave., it was reported Thursday night.
Theft of items from a purse at 1122 Frey St. was reported Thursday.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle driven by Erwin Hanken was eastbound in the 300 block of West U.S. 56  at 8:29 a.m. Wednesday and crossed left of center, sideswiping a trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by Kohl Kramp. A vehicle part also hit a vehicle driven by Richard Nolte. No injuries were reported.
Deputies responded to a report of a fight in the commons area of a dorm at Barton Community College at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The K-9 unit also responded, and a resident was arrested for suspected narcotics violations.
A vehicle tag was reported lost or stolen from 214 South U.S. 281.
After the K-9 was dispatched for Forest and Washington in Great Bend at 11:52 p.m. Thursday, a male was arrested for possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
A vehicle hit a deer one mile west of Heizer on K-96 at 6:28 a.m. Friday.
