Barton County Sheriff

Two electric oilfield pumping unit motors were stolen from 517 Kiowa Road, it was reported Monday.

A vehicle hit a deer in the 800 block of NW K-96 at 8:51 p.m. Monday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

A car hit a deer on south U.S. 281 at 9:12 p.m. Monday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs Friday, two Saturday, three Sunday and five Monday.

At 5:23 p.m. Friday they responded to Great Bend High School after an automatic alarm went off. They found a faulty detector that was replaced, and the alarm was reset.

 

Great Bend Police

Monday reports:

Two doors were broken on an office at 2015 Forest Ave.

Barbara Straub was driving south on McKinley St. at 2:06 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Tabby Wallace, who was also southbound.

Items were taken from a storage shed on 24th St.

A purse was stolen out of a shopping cart while its owner was in the ckeck-out line at Walmart.
