Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made nine ambulance runs Tuesday and four Wednesday.

On Wednesday they received a report of a smoke smell in the area of Seventh and Heizer St. but were unable to locate anything.

 

Great Bend Police

At 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified that a 9-year-old boy was at Great Bend Regional Hospital after receiving a bite to the chest from the family dog, a lab-pit mixed breed, in Great Bend.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A liquid fertilizer tank at NW 190 Road and NW 80 Ave. near Galatia was damaged, possibly by a firearm, it was reported Wednesday morning. Loss was estimated at $2,300.
