Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Monday. There were no fires.

Galatia Fire Department responded to a grass fire in the ditch below the power lines on NW 200 Road and NW 70 Ave. at 12:34 p.m. Sunday.

 

Great Bend Police

Monday reports:

Damage to the Second St. fence on the flood control area was discovered.

A vehicle driven by Dilon Halzie was eastbound in the 1500 block of 10th St. at 2:26 p.m. and struck a City of Great Bend vehicle driven by Robert Kruetzer, who was in the turn lane facing east. Kansas Highway Patrol worked the accident because a city vehicle was involved.

A vehicle driven by Louis Danner was northbound on Main at 10th St. at 2:59 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Teresa Walls, who was also northbound. Walls’ vehicle then struck a third northbound vehicle, driven by Annette Valdovinos.

A burglary at 200 McKinley St. was reported. Someone entered a storage shed and took items.

A case was taken for alleged forging of prescriptions for controlled narcotics.

A vehicle driven by Mickie McNett was southbound on Washington St. at 4:17 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Shelia Hunt, who was also southbound.

A car at 5937 Aspen Drive was hit by another vehicle at 9:10 p.m.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Two bales of hay were reportedly stolen from the 500 block of SE 30 Road, one a few weeks ago and one in recent days.

Someone drove through a fence in the 500 block of SW 70 Ave., it was discovered Saturday morning.

Someone drove over a mailbox in the 600 block of West Barton County Road, it was discovered Sunday morning.
