Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

A car was broken into and the compact disc player stolen.

The department assisted Ellinwood Police Department at 11:17 a.m.

Hydrocodone pills were stolen from 1217-A Adams St.

A sex offense, indecent liberties with a child, was reported at a Great Bend residence.

A Great Bend resident reported someone taking checks on an old account at a Larned bank.

A vehicle driven by Kamren Gruber was eastbound on Railroad Ave. at 7:04 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by James Stevens, who was stopped at the stop sign.

Items were stolen from a pickup at 705 10th.

After a car was stopped in the 1400 block of Morton St. at 2:38 a.m. Thursday, the K-9 Unit was used. Nothing was found.

 

Hoisington Fire Department

A fire in a flue from a wood burning stove at 561 South Main St. caused a fire in the ceiling shop at 8:29 a.m. Wednesday. Everyone got out of the building safely.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Deputies assisted the state parole office in locating an absconder reporting living in Pawnee Rock. David L. Hunter Sr., 50, was arrested by state officers.
