Great Bend Fire Department
A Barton County resident who disobeyed the current ban on burning had a trash fire that got out of hand Tuesday afternoon.
Great Bend Fire Department was dispatched to 72 NE 20 Road at 7:52 p.m. The fire had started with the neighbors at 208 NE Baker St. burning trash. A citation was issued.
Firefighters also made one ambulance run Tuesday.
Barton County Sheriff
A burglary that occurred around April 1 at 2318 Railroad Ave. was reported Tuesday. Someone broke into a storage unit and took checks and documents.
A vehicle hit a dog at 752 B North U.S. 281 at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, causing damage to the vehicle. Golden Belt Humane Society took the injured dog to a veterinarian.
Theft of batteries from 1070 NE 130 Ave. was reported Tuesday.
Great Bend Police
Tuesday reports:
Gutters around a building at 3301 19th St. were damaged.
A vehicle driven by Jayson Schneider was eastbound in the 700 block of 10th St. at 10:04 a.m. changing lanes and struck a vehicle driven by Brett Roberts, who was also eastbound.
A debit card was lost or stolen and someone used it.
