Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs on Tuesday and responded to a false alarm at 1026 Van Buren St. at 5:55 p.m.

A controlled burn located three miles west of Heizer at NW 90 Ave. and NW 40 Road was put out by the Albert Fire Department at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday.

Barton County Sheriff
Tom Dickson was driving two miles east of Beaver on NE 190 Road near NE 80 at 12:57 p.m. Monday and reportedly swerved when a pickup traveled into his lane. The pickup Dickson was driving hit a bridge post.
Theft of several brass gate valves from three tank batteries on NW 220 Road and NW 80 Ave. was reported Tuesday.
The theft of a yard decoration from 1494 NE 120 Ave. was reported Monday.
A vehicle hit a turkey at 330 east U.S. 56 at 11:14 a.m. Tuesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
A pickup or trailer in front of Kaiser’s Total Service, 652 South Main, Hoisington, hit a pole owned by the City of Hoisington at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday.

Great Bend Police
Theft of fuel from USA Gym Supply, 319 McKinley, was reported Monday.
A search warrant was executed in the 2800 block of 20th St. at 8:54 a.m. Monday.
Theft of services was reported Monday when it was discovered someone illegally making a connection at a gas meter in the 2200 block of 18th St.
A counterfeit $50 bill was passed at 2716 10th St., it was reported Monday.
A bow and three arrows found at 4800 17th St. Terrace was turned in as found property.
Theft of a yard sprayer from 4901 Eighth St. was reported Monday.
A burglary at 2216 11th St. was reported Monday. Someone broke into the house and took items, leaving other items that did not belong to the occupant.
Someone cut a lock on a garage at 1102 Morton St.
A vehicle driven by Kenneth Craven was northbound on Main St. at 8:16 p.m. Monday making a left turn onto 10th St. and struck a vehicle driven by Haley Guesnier, who was southbound on Main. Craven was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into the Barton County Jail.
Theft of license plate No. XKV744 from a pickup at 215 Plum St. was reported Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Carol Frazer was northbound on Washington St. at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Brenda Kultgen, who was southbound turning east onto 10th St.
A vehicle driven by Leslie Helsel was southbound on Grant St. at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Nicholas Witt, who was northbound turning west onto 10th St.
