Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made 10 ambulance runs Thursday. At 11:42 a.m. they responded to arcing wires in the 2200 block of Forest Ave. after someone reported hearing a loud explosion by the power pole behind the residence, and at 12:34 p.m. they responded to a possible gas leak at 431 grapevine.
At 5 a.m. Friday the aerial ladder unit was dispatched to a fire in Ellsworth.

Great Bend Police
Thursday reports:
Someone damaged the driver’s door on a vehicle parked at Walmart.
A vehicle driven by Todd Wondra was backing from a driveway at 5629 Broadway Ave. at 1:26 p.m. and struck a parked vehicle.
At 3:17 p.m. a caller reported a dog was stuck under the seat of a Ford Taurus parked at Walmart, 3503 10th St.
A vehicle driven by Paula Knop was westbound from a driveway at 1649 K-96 at 5:14 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Travis Koochel, who was southbound on K-96.
Electronics and other items were reported stolen in a burglary at 405 Plum St. Loss was $4,734.
