Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hydroplaned and went into a ditch on K-156 at milepost 140, around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. Do damage or injury was noted.

A car went into the ditch in the 200 block of SE 50 Ave. at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, sustaining minor damage. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

A Chevy truck hit a deer on East K-4 at milepost 137 at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Great Bend Police

A vehicle driven by Ann Oberle was eastbound in the 1800 block of 10th St. at 10:39 a.m. Tuesday an sideswiped another eastbound vehicle driven by Steven Dannebohm.

A burglary at 601 Stone St. was reported Tuesday. Hand tools and computer parts were taken. Jeffrey Lee Hood Jr., 28, of Great Bend, was later named as a suspect and was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of burglary and theft. Bond was set at $20,000.

A vehicle driven by Jamie Baldwin was pulling from a parking staff in the 2900 block of Broadway at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Jerold Postlethwaite, who was eastbound on Broadway.

A vehicle driven by Jean Staudinger was backing from angle parking in the 1400 block of Baker Ave. at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Melanie Schneweis.

A motorist in a red Honda car reportedly drove off from 2334 Main at 9:19 p.m. Tuesday without paying for $10 worth of fuel.

Police were called to 1714 Harrison St. at 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, after Travis Coulliette, 30, reportedly threatened to shoot a man at that address, and then made additional threats if he reported the incident. Coulliette then left the area and Stafford County was contacted and asked to attempt to locate him. At 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported Coulliette was arrested for aggravated intimidation of a victim, criminal threat and battery, and was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bond.
