Great Bend Police

Theft of metal at 5251 Ninth St. was reported Thursday.

A cut lock at 3118 Washington Ave. was reported Thursday.

A broken windshield at 2027 Morton St. was reported Thursday.

A counterfeit bill at 3503 10th St. was reported.

Theft of a Mossberg shotgun, gun case and ammunition bag with ammo from a Chevy SIlverado at 2110 26th St. was reported Friday morning.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 1300 block of Polk St.

A shoplifting at 3503 10th St. was reported Friday.

A vehicle driven by Leroy Wilhelm backed into a parked vehicle in the 5500 block of Apache Road at 4:37 p.m. Friday.

A $30 gas skip involving a blue car was reported at 9:43 p.m. Friday at 2716 10th St.

A burglary at 5714 Rosewood Dr. was reported Saturday. Several items were taken from the residence.

Vehicles driven by Shawn Satterfield and Abbie McCarty collided at the east entrance of the Walmart parking lot onto 10th St. at 6:09 p.m. Saturday. This was reported as an injury accident.

Ariel Macias, 20, of Great Bend, allegedly threatened two people with a knife Saturday night at 436 Cedar St. Macias was booked on a charge of aggravated assault with bond set at $20,000.

Two reckless drivers in the Walmart parking lot were reported at 4 a.m. on Sunday. Both vehicles were later stopped and drivers Thania S. Armendariz, 22, of Bazine, and David Huerta, 23, of Phillipsburg, were both arrested. Armendariz had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear, and was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond. Huerta’s charges were no insurance and driving with an open container of alcohol. His bond was set at $500.

Theft of a Roadmaster bike from 3503 10th St. was reported Sunday.

Someone shot the windshield of a tractor at 1444 Second St., it was reported Sunday. Loss was $300.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle driven by Shane Sandberg hit a deer in the 1300 block of NE 130 Ave. at 6:35 a.m. Friday.

A burglary at Val Energy, 250 SE 10 Ave., was discovered Friday morning. The locks were cut and buildings were broken into; damage was done to four-wheelers and copper wiring was stolen or moved.

Copper wire was stolen or moved from a F H & B Contracting Co. warehouse at 268 South U.S. 281, it was reported Friday.

A pickup driven by Daniel Raney hit a deer at 204 East U .S. 56 at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

A vehicle hit a deer on NE 160 Road and North Susank Blacktop, 5 miles north of Hoisington, at 5:14 p.m. Saturday.

A Pontiac driven by Jordan Hickel struck a deer on NW 80 Ave. on K-4, near Olmitz, at 8:22 p.m. Saturday.

A stolen vehicle was found south of Hoisington at Hoisington Ave. and East Forest Ave. at 2:31 a.m. Sunday and impounded.

Theft of copper wire, a radiator and car battery from the yard at 163 SW 80 Ave. was reported Sunday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made one ambulance call last Thursday, one Friday, eight Saturday, two Sunday and six Monday.

At 7:28 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to 183 SE 1 Ave. after an electrical short caused a small fire under a mobile home. Damage was reportedly minimal.

They performed a carbon monoxide check on Saturday and checked on a gas leak at Odell and Zarah Drive on Sunday.
