Barton County Sheriff

A theft was reported Thursday at 2545 19th St., Great Bend.

A pursuit began shortly after 5 a.m. at 10th and Heizer St., Great Bend.

Trespassing was reported in the 300 block of Key West Dr., Great Bend.

Cattle were out Thursday afternoon at SE 20 Road and SE 10 Ave., Great Bend.

A non-injury crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. at 899 NE K-156, Claflin.


Great Bend Police

Theft of a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse was reported at 4:44 a.m. Thursday at 2545 19th St. Sgt. Jay Bachar located the vehicle at 10th and Heizer St. at 5:08 a.m. Pursuit began in town and was later taken over by the BCSO. The SUV was later recovered and a suspect arrested. A warrant arrest was made at 8:14 a.m. at 823 Pine Pl.

A non-injury crash was reported at 11:44 a.m. at Freddy’s Frozen Custard, 3008 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 12:11 p.m. at 10th and Madison.

An officer responded to a Child in Need of Care (CINC) case at The Center for Counseling and Consultation.

A sex offense was reported.

A non-injury crash was reported at The University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend, 514 Cleveland St.

GBPD assisted the BCSO with a combative inmate at the jail at 5:42 p.m.

A 2006 Ford Explorer that was previously reported stolen was located and returned to its owner.

At 8:17 p.m., police checked an allegedly intoxicated female at Brit Spaugh Park who was cheering in the stands when no games were being played.

A non-injury crash was reported at 8:20 p.m. at 19th and Adams.

Police received a fireworks complaint at 9:54 p.m. in the 2900 block of 24th St.

A traffic hazard was reported at 1:44 a.m. Friday; a bucket was removed from the road at Broadway and McKinley.
