Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made eight ambulance runs Thursday.
At 3 p.m. units responded to SW 10 Ave. and SW 70 Road for a field fire. They found approximately 1 acre of milo burning. Despite the high winds units were able to keep the fire from spreading into another field. Chief Mike Napolitano said there was evidence of someone burning pampas grass next to the milo field.

Great Bend Police
A neighbor was allegedly stealing electricity from 2115 Sunset Road, it was reported Thursday.
Items were stolen from a room at the Highland Hotel, 3017 10th St.
An alleged shoplifter at Dillon’s, 1811 Main, was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
A window at 1200 Baker Ave. was shot with a BB gun.

Barton County Sheriff
The sheriff’s office was contacted Thursday about an identity theft suspect who was caught in Garden City.
