Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance calls Thursday.
At 6:59 p.m. they were called to 311 SE 40 Ave. for a possible electrical fire in a garage. When they arrived, the owner told firefighters that a light fixture had caught fire but he was able to unplug the light and the fire went out. No other Hazards were found.

Barton County Sheriff
The sheriff’s office on Thursday morning was asked to assist Russell Police Department in investigating a theft. In the afternoon the officer said no assistance would be needed but he or she would be looking for a stolen cell phone in the ditches in the area of NW 100 Ave. between 200 and 210 Road.
A construction worker at Barton Community College fell 10-12 feet Thursday morning and suffered traumatic injuries.
A theft was reported at 187 North U.S. 281, Great Bend. A radiator was taken, and a power cord was cut off and stolen.
A rural Claflin woman reported receiving a call from her credit card company about activity in Junction City early Thursday afternoon for $337 at Walmart. The store advised they had the card, but the woman said she had her credit card with her. The case will be generated in Junction City, but a BCSO officer was also asked to take a courtesy report.

Great Bend Police
Forgeries were reported Thursday at 2302 10th St.
A battery was reported at 2:31 p.m. at 2106 Harrison St.
At 9:10 p.m., a man reported being battered by a known mail at 1109 Main. Notices to appear in municipal court were served.
