Clarification
“On the Record” previously reported a battery occurred Thursday, July 31, at 2106 Harrison St. The incident was actually outside of the residence, and did not involve the occupants. A multi-family sale was going on, and the case was taken by an officer after two women at the sale got into an argument.

Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made 10 ambulance runs on Monday.
Around 4:30 p.m., firefighters responded to multiple small grass fires contained to roadside ditches along East U.S. 56 and north onto K-156. All fires were extinguished. The sheriff’s office briefing log shows a fire in the south ditch just east of Kiowa Kitchen at 4:42 p.m., and two fires north of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center at 5:03 p.m. Ellinwood Fire Department was called for mutual aid.

Barton County Sheriff
Tools and other items were stolen over the weekend from 211 North U.S. 281, Great Bend, it was reported Monday.
A rural Great Bend resident reported identity theft.
Two-inch diameter aluminum irrigation pipes were reportedly stolen from 161 SW 10 Ave.

Great Bend Police
A known person allegedly left a store at 1649 K-96 on Monday morning without paying for items. A notice to appear (NTA) in municipal court was signed and served.
A known person allegedly threw a brick through a vehicle window at 2309 Lakin Ave. An NTA was signed.
Sunflower Bank, 3600 10th St., reported two counterfeit $1 bills were passed at the Presto store.
A vehicle driven by Ashley Marie Williams reportedly rear-ended a vehicle driven by Tyrone Jean Cregger at 1:16 p.m. at 5625 10th St.
An individual reported losing a wallet at Walmart Supercenter.
A theft was reported at 2515 Shawnee Dr.
Theft of fuel was reported at 5:36 p.m. at 2716 10th St.
